Nevada counts hours by the day for employees paid under 1.5 times the state minimum wage. Pick your pay level and enter your hours.
Type hours as 8.5 or 8:30. Overtime counts on the days it falls.
Nevada overtime rules
- Employees paid less than 1.5 times the Nevada minimum wage get 1.5 times their rate for hours over 8 in a workday, unless they work a scheduled 10 hours a day for four days by mutual agreement.
- Those employees also get 1.5 times their rate for hours over 40 in a week.
- Employees paid 1.5 times the minimum wage or more get overtime only for hours over 40 in a week.

Questions people ask
Who gets daily overtime in Nevada?
Under NRS 608.018, employees paid less than 1.5 times the Nevada minimum wage get time and a half after 8 hours in a workday, and after 40 hours in a week. Employees paid 1.5 times the minimum wage or more get overtime only after 40 hours in a week.
How do I use the pay level setting?
Choose "Under 1.5× minimum wage" or "1.5× minimum wage or more" in the Nevada pay level menu. Check the Nevada Labor Commissioner for the current minimum wage to see which applies to you.
What about four 10-hour days?
NRS 608.018 doesn't apply the daily rule when, by mutual agreement, an employee works a scheduled 10 hours a day for four days in a scheduled week. The 40-hour weekly rule still applies. This calculator doesn't model that schedule.
