Overtime rate = regular rate × 1.5. Overtime pay = overtime rate × overtime hours. At $18.00 an hour, time and a half is $27.00 an hour.

Questions people ask
What does time and a half mean?
You are paid 1.5 times your regular hourly rate for each overtime hour. If you earn $16.00 an hour, you earn $24.00 for each overtime hour.
How do I calculate time and a half for a salary?
Divide the annual salary by 52 weeks, then by the weekly hours, to get an hourly rate. Multiply by 1.5. Many salaried roles are exempt from overtime, so check that first.
What is double time?
Double time is 2 times the regular rate. Federal law does not require it. California requires it for hours over 12 in a day.
